Dropping off the LJ Face
Aug. 28th, 2011 11:17 amIt's not really I dropped off my own personal LJ, it's more like I have swapped to Plurk. Meh. Well this is still a good place to get my thoughts out on various things and it's not like I'm dealing with various things at once.
The final stages to this expansion of Warcraft Cataclysm is nearly upon us, and I'm here thinking to myself that it feels, well I suppose you could call it Shortended? There's this big awesome dragon immolating people, and what happens? Patch 4.3 is announced with his demise with 4.4 being a big World Event for the next one.
Sigh. Maybe I can max out my 85s before the last expansion hits.
Grandma's back in the house and we're subjected to the same shows over and over again. However there is an upside since she watches Kamen Rider with me. And I've gotten back into the Pretty Cure fandom with copies of the Precure DX movies and the Heartcatch Series. I'm up to about episode 24 on Heartcatch and I enjoy it thusly.
UG@ has continued to be a delight to me. It's just so easy playing Tsukasa all the time, and being the way he's set up, he doesn't have to know about anything mecha at all. And I like how he's coming out. Also have Shirley there too, and Dita is due to debut on Tuesday.
Trans. I'm in for the long haul but we'll see how this game pans. I love it, but it can be so maddening sometimes with its pace. But it's not bad at all. It's a lot of fun and gives a lot of things to keep track of, but I don't mind. I'm not crazy about it, but I do enjoy playing there.
My other games are a little slower, like Sophia Academy, etc, but those are good games too. Lots of fun there, even if I need to try and get more activity in Splendor down. Micro I never have a problem with tbh, so yeah.

A Bit of a Climax Burnout
Feb. 5th, 2011 11:54 amDespite the name of the post, the results are nothing but non-sexual in nature.
Really.
After an exhausting couple of days both mentally and physically, demanding wakeup times, chores and the whole nine yards, I'm settling down to a Saturday. Hopefully my fingers will cooperate for this duration of the post goddamnit I'm already misspelling things.
Bah.
Tired tired tired. Really tired. But at the same time, refreshed. I went and had a couple of drinks last night and I do feel a little more comfortable in my own skin. Apped to Splendor City and prepared an application for Soul Campaign as well. Both mostly at the insistence of friends YOUKNOWWHOYOUARE.
Ed's CR is picking up due to my very good people on Plurk who saw my TLDR on plurk of all things and decided they could not let the challenge slip away. And husbandou? I do apologize for making you mad. You will not believe how much that's gnawed on me for a while.
Madoka 5 is out but I'm almost scared to watch it from the memories of episode 3 replaying in my mind once in a while. Still though, I need to let that out a little more. Play with my derps a bit.
Ben needs more CR too, come to think about it. I solved the Reimi problem but Ben has no one to rely on right at the given moment in time.
Well, one step at a time really.

Look Ma, I can TLDR too!
Jan. 28th, 2011 10:49 amLadies and gentlemen welcome back to the Shaun TLDR podcast in which I ramble about things until I manage to go out of steam and sort of puddle on the desk. It's been a while hasn't it? Well there's no harm done and my headspace has auto-kicked in to totalbiscuit's dulcet tones.
So as a recap, Christmas has come and gone and for once it did not suck balls. That's right you heard it first, a Christmas where nothing bad actually happened. No quite frankly it was just the opposite. Having made my way through the new year I have gotten my Paladin to level 85 and then subsequently gotten her archaeology up to well past the 325 mark. This in turn allows me to dig around Outland for shiny things that are of Draenei or Orcish make. And being level 85 anything short of a raid boss cannot kick my ass. No in fact. It rather does its own kicking, and stomps on everything like it's a tiny little nibblet.
Coupling with the Christmas that did not suck the arrival of the much anticipated
keybladeorder roleplaying game has opened up and already I am thinking of very bad things to happen just because Rita decided that immolation was the way to go. I'm sorry but the girl is the Hayate Yagami of the video game world. She does not aim as much as just gesture in the general direction and throw something, hoping it'll hit. This is clearly supported by the Tales of Vesperia video game canon and the fact that over half her spells that exceed the size of a ice cream truck hit over half the things on screen.
From the other side of the building.
I wouldn't be surprised if Long Range Bombardment is off her allowed list after nuking a Darkside with an Ancient Catastrophe, and then griping about it and her poor decision making skills. Considering she just recently destroyed Training Ground 17, the gardener would like to have a word. I'm not entirely sure who's to blame for this one; the heartless for showing up or letting Rita be in charge without calling Yen Sid first.
My torrid love affair for Kamen Rider continues, most importantly the arrival of Kamen Rider Den-O into my list of things that have soaked up my time. In three days I finished all of Den-O and this is including the movies and the Decade Tie-ins. The Kiva one fell a little short but due to the wibbly wobbly timey wimey nature of the storyline I suppose it's allowable that it feels like sort of a "here you go here's a Kiva, oh look Rider KICK."
So much in fact that I've written a little fan fiction about it in my wont, but also as usual it's a bloody crossover. One of these days I'll see about actually writing a real singular storyline but maybe later in the far FAR future. As with all things in mind, previous to date I had also finished off the rest of Nanoha A's and proceeded to write far too many chapters within that storyline. I did blame Shadow Crystal Mage and his Nanoha/Negima fic for instilling the idea into me, but unlike him where he was dared to do Negi-Nanoha, much to the dismay of the fandom who simply cannot get over the fact that silly fic is for silly and pairings can go the way of the dodo, I decided to backtrack a little and focus on Vita who has become a favorite singular fixture in both Hirari and Lyrical Ride.
Coupled with my torrid affair for the Nanoha universe is my Tiana fanfic Going My Soul which is admittedly Rider Inspired but Xros Wars caused. Considering the blatant disregard for anything pertaining to something as simple as a level, Xros Wars takes the evolution thing and throws it into a bush shredder. Repeatedly. Going My Soul focuses on the epilogue of StrikerS, and coincidentally mucking it all up. Instead of having a nice little separation epilogue where everyone goes their ways, Tia is thrust into a matter of monsters and legendary warriors which she becomes the main focus around. It's not to say that I'm ignoring the rest of Riot 6, it's just that she's the goddamn transforming warrior. I really have to get around to the next chapter because she's going to find out that Kouichi and the Council of Five (see what I did there?), are letting her WIN. And that's not going to sit well with her.
Writing music has been replaced primarily by Den-O music, which Climax Jump Den-Liner Form has become a big fixture of, as well as the theme from one of the movies If We Met in a Dream. Both songs are fantastic and anyone who says otherwise will be dragged out and shot in the leg.
I haven't touched the Warcraft in a while, only logging on once in a while to ensure that I hadn't been hacked. With the amount of ridiculous amounts of hacker email I get claiming that I did something illegal in WoW when I clearly haven't been on in weeks gives me pause, and I do check my game. Of course I'm not stupid enough to click a link. No, I'm not certain members of my family who believe google ads such as Acai Berry Secret in Red Deer is real. Maybe I should get on and laugh at Goldshire today. It has been a while and Lan or Rein hasn't made an appearance recently. And y'know? Been considering another race change for Rein back to human. I don't know WHY but the reason that I returned to Draenei has been long since negated. Hmm. Well I'll see what comes up. Best check my account statement first before I do that.
This has been another TLDR podcast and I'm spent. /Sips coffee. I'll see you next time.

Life or a Reasonable Facimile To It
Jan. 9th, 2011 03:28 pmSo my brother failed a couple of classes and like before, he's thinking of giving up completely. I won't stand for this. For one thing, he's following my train of thought: it's too hard, give up. I'm slowly shaking that off for the most part. Mom and Grandma are trying to get him out of the house but it's a work in process. He has to leave or the snow'll get harder.
Sigh. It's always the younger that is difficult in most families I've noticed. Being one of two sons, I wouldn't know how life would be with smaller kids in the house. But at the same time, why in the world am I so worried he's going to fail hopelessly? He's failed two classes, fine. This is just a progress on getting the Class 3 and then he'll be raking in the dough no matter where he works.
I guess it's a sort of "Damn I can't wait to see him get going" coupled with "He'd better survive his classes" thing.
Gonna have to work on a master list for most of my muses again. It's slow going and I'm not the fastest htmler in the world.
Although I'm making Lu and Setsuna icons. Go me.

An Actual Daily Update
Jan. 3rd, 2011 09:47 amGot to bed late last night doing a couple of tags and all and I need to play catch up with Trans9 now. But it's not too bad. Been fanfic writing lately so that's a lot of fun and it's relaxing to boot. Although my whole "Henshin sound" reflex comes into play when I'm writing anything that requires transforming. Kyle's asked me what I'm doing to make those sounds.
Woke up this morning to Kyle making a telemarketers life hard through cold hard logic instead of following a script. That's always fun.
He's almost done Fallout New Vegas but he's now sunk into the side quests which kind of bite. It's making a 4 hour game like several days worth of playing. Meh. At least I can watch my shows once in a while. I'd like to at least finish Blade's world before I continue on. With any luck I can watch that this morning.
ALSO, I'm looking for the Familiar of Zero series right now. With any luck, I can find the novels or maybe some of the translated manga. Reading this FateStay/FoZ fanfic made me curious and as usual, the brain wondered how Tsukasa aka Decade would handle it. He wouldn't really have a problem defeating enemies but he and Louise would be at each others throats verbally since he's not the type to hurt kids, unless they're Riders but I digress.
... yeah, I'm going to wind up writing that fic aren't I. Probably call it something along the lines of "One Grand Experiment" or something similar to that since Tsukasa has a terrible tendency of being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Better Off For It
Dec. 27th, 2010 09:00 amOkay so pretty much, that whole Rum and Coke thing is better experienced with a drink that isn't total ASS. The Tanduay Rum isn't fit to be served to dogs much less used as a paint stripper.
Now Sailor Jerry on the other hand, wow. It is FANTASTIC and it is a delicious rum that is well deserved and brewed properly. It's like trading in Paint Thinner for Ambrosia.
And the hangover quotient is really low. So low in fact that I don't HAVE one. Which is remarkable in itself since it's a higher proof than Tanduay but with less alcohol in it. All I am right now is sleepy and shaking off the cobwebs with my morning coffee.
So yeah, Shaun +1.
Maybe for another special occasion I'll get ma that Gibson wine since she likes wine so much.

Sitting Here With My Coffee
Nov. 15th, 2010 10:38 amSince I wasn't woken up at the crack of dawn for cleaning the house, I can only assume that we're not going to have to worry about cleaning house today, even though I should vaccum it; it really needs it.
Mom's not around which means her friends must have dragged her out for coffee which is a good thing. It means her back is getting better now.
I've been thinking about my money situation and I guess I'll do what I can to repay everything I have. It won't be much per month but it's a start.
Finally, I've been thinking about getting back into Yu-Gi-Oh officially, the 5Ds TV show. But I'll have to hunt down torrents for about 30 episodes. What I have seen is pretty good mind you.
Sitting in Goldshire reading RSPs this morning. Then I'll get to tags later. Wearing my vanguard set. I'd like to see if there's a matching tier on the horde. I doubt it'd look just as good but eh.
Thinking about that WITCH fic to make it self-contained and what not. Might give that a go today.

Got myself a new pair today, or rather ordered one in and got new lenses too. I was so tempted to get the anime-style red ones cause they HAD SOME. I can pull it off mind you but I dunno if I want a pair like that 100% of the time.
Still, it's a nice pair. Wide arms, thin frame, titanium. With the exam I was looking at 400 bucks on top of the eyeglasses, lenses and all.
More on that later as I hunt down my blue cross.
Oh and I turn 29 in 4 days.

Dance, Soterious Johnson Dance
Oct. 25th, 2010 09:32 amWhile I don't feel like dancing, I do realize that I'm getting less stressed as the days go by. Yesterday was NOT a pace-maker no matter how much I gripe about it.
Today's bill payment day so I gotta go deposit and then pay bills etc for me and mom.
There's snow outside also. I'm really glad I put my car in the garage, or it'd be covered by now. It's just a light snow, but it's sticking now.
Coffee's a little weak, but it's okay.
EDIT: Uh oh.
I'm not working today. They said they'd call me if they need me.
That's... kind of a bad sign... I guess I should start looking for work again.
EDIT: Hmm
Lacombe has a Smoothie Place.
THIS is important.

Driving, Hospitals, Games and Books
Oct. 20th, 2010 09:57 pmWith any luck, mom is being released tomorrow from the hospital. I'm planning on calling ahead first to make sure that this isn't a wasted trip. Cause really, three trips to Edmonton in three days is asking for me to go completely batshit guano loco.
On a note of things, I need a PS3 HD cable. I have a HD tv so I need a cable accordingly. Prongs are a thing of the past!
Yeah, new PS3 now. Got myself Atelier Rorona which I'm sure I'm going to enjoy with fumbly Rorona as the leader of this party. I played the original Atelier Iris, and I still HAVE it in my game library. It was fantastic and a lot of fun. It helped that it was made during the tail end of the PS2 awesomesauce run for NIS.
The other game I got was Cross Edge (sorry Mags, I'll get those other games later!), and it's a game that I half expected to be purchased for a Kings Ransom and USED. But this time around it was a fresh copy. Never been used. I was downright pleased and quite surprised since getting a NIS game this late into the release is like finding King Solomon's Mines.
Cross Edge is a funny little thing in the realm of video games, a collaboration of FIVE different creators including favorites Capcom, NIS and a surprising addition of Gust who has deemed to get into the mainstream a little more with this. There's a couple of others such as Imagine Factory and what not, but hey, this is a game where you do power attacks while dressing people up in new costumes in order to agument their abilities.
Oh and York is a tool. I'm pretty sure he'll be even more badass later, but right now he's all Adell with less tact if you can believe that. He gives off the standard NIS Combat Wombat mentality, and isn't phased when Morrigan Aensland talks about a "burning heat in her bosom".
He must be gay or something cause Miko is a hottie even compared to the Queen of Succubus.
( Percy Jackson Stuff )
Another thing though. Since mom is a big issue in my life, read I need to do everything now, I'm going to be parring back on RP officially in a bit. This means of course that every Tom Dick and Jane will ask me for tags, threads, etc. It's how it always GOES.
But I'm standing my ground here. I NEED time to readjust. There will be cooking, cleaning, shopping, laundry. EVERYTHING. I am a one-man army and this is what I'm doing right now. As such, tomorrow I'm probably even going to wind up sheeting mom's BED before she lays down in it. THAT is how bad off she is right now, despite walking everywhere.
So yeah, if I don't tag or if I blatantly ignore tags in favor for mind-numbing video games or WoW or WHATEVER, don't be too mad. Because I am relaxing, I need this time before I do anything ELSE. Tomorrow before I leave I gotta call an appointment into the Lacombe Ford, and then as WELL call the locksmith for our fubared door handle.
I have a life, and right now it's another shift. If you can't understand that, it means you have nothing to do but wait on a tag.
And that's sad.
Really.

Sep. 10th, 2010 11:17 amWhile not a literal good Friday holiday, it's a good Friday. Played some BBS, hurdled a couple of worlds. Powered up Terra like whoa but he needs more HPs.
Also, I got my Shaman Tier 10 4set bonus. While it's not spectacular, there's a hidden stat that I find amazing.
Set (2): Your Lightning Bolt and Chain Lightning spells reduce the remaining cooldown on your Elemental Mastery talen by 2 sec.
That first set is amazing because it makes me pew pew harder.
Set (4): Your Lava Burst spell causes your Flame Shock effect on the target to deal at least two additional periodic damage ticks before expiring.
While it doesn't sound quite as amazing, it has a hidden stat as it REFRESHES that tick damage, letting me not have to fire a flame shock. And if I need to, I let it run out and it deals tons of damage.
I'm pretty happy today. And such, off hiatus.

Indulging my Nerdity
Sep. 2nd, 2010 02:29 pmDiscovered my Facebook page image sucks. It's also 5 years out of date at least.
So I threw this together.

I also went job hunting. That went well. For the most part.

I think I'm in Ari's boat today, unable to tag or do RP and junk. Really, it's just like it feels like an albatross around my neck at the moment.
As such, I called ahiatusslowatus in all my games. I dunno, just sort of between WoW and RL and Corinth on permi-hiatus it feels like my interest is dissolving temporarily. Sigh.
As a note, I'm also not going to be around on Tuesday. I've got to go to Edmonton to West Ed.

That's right, you heard it from me first.

Things to do while your XBox is RRODed
Jul. 17th, 2010 10:51 amWith the Box RRODed, my brother has had to find new things to do. Mostly, he's been playing facebook games all day while alternatively reading comics and watching television all at the same time. It would be okay, if he hadn't let off a demented giggle and claimed he had to "kill something. See the head pop off." accompanied by shooting noises.
He has a diagnosed Fallout Problem. Day 1 of Kyle's withdrawal has set in.
Went to see Despicable Me the other day with him though, and it's just such an amazing movie. Dreamwork's animation studio is once again superb, and the comically exaggerated characters are more than amazing. Actual thoughts on the movie will be censored because people have yet to see it. Such is my life.
I can hear the Lacombe Days parade going on due to the by-now clockwork honking horn of something. Not a float most likely, but something. Breakfast today consisted of a single cup of caramel latte. And in true Shaun fashion, I'm trying to write fanfic in the morning before I lose my drive to do so.
Someday I will write canon-based fanfiction, this I know. But for now, nada. AU is way too much fun to do so.
Going on three days for Fate's revisions. I know I shouldn't be impatient but I can't get the feeling that I've missed something and for some reason, the modly types are in a deadlock or some crap like that. I dunno. At this point, I'll accept a declined. Cause really, this is getting ridiculous.

Replay Value and 30 Day Negima Meme
Jul. 4th, 2010 10:34 amSo I started replying Star Ocean again after discovering to my horror that I was severely undergeared and underpowered for level 48 in my main game. Hitting for 150 points of damage per slash was NOT a good thing, and thus I went and decided to rectify this.
So my new game has me actually powering on through as long as I have the MP to burn. While you can't get MP crushed anymore (thank god), Reimi is great for long distance attacks. Though I'm probably going to go light on her short-ranged techs to say the least since Seraphic Thunder has her running right INTO the enemy's melee zone and firing that arrow.
But on the upside, I wasn't getting a spectacular ass kicking later on in the game.
Watching my brother play Fallout 3 as his keen obsession with it seems to fuel other emotions, mostly towards the realm of WHY? Why does he like to play this game so much? It makes no goddamn sense. He's replayed it like 30 times by now, and does everything from pottery arrangement to more things meaning pottery arrangement. It's a soul sucking process that seems to baffle me with his oblique disturbing concepts when you're taking the pants off of an enemy you just shot in the head.
War for Cybertron is as designated, a fantastic journey through the world of Cybertron and thus transforming robotics. It plays out well, and while not quite the experience I was used to, it is a well thought out campaign which I eagerly sink my teeth into whenever I get my turn at the box. Most people aren't too happy with the whole Third Person Shooter with no First Person option save for when you're using scopes and such, and the lack of a cover system grates at people where you have to duck behind a wall to be covered, not actually press and hold a button to do that. Miniature flaws aside, it's played out like Bad Company where you don't have to worry about camping a spawn point in order to get a vehicle. Y'know, cause the transforming part comes in.
Ghostbusters the Videogame. Or as I like to call it, Ghostbusters 3 the long awaited sequel to 1 and 2. Even without "rookie" in the mix, it's definitely a cinematic experience, as even the game itself starts out panned like the movies. The host of themes, devices and people in it are all hallmark of the original storyline and tale, and the wit and wittiness of the characters themselves speak loudly in terms of amazing stuff. Stuff intertwined with more stuff which makes for a big slimy gooey mess that is both nutritious and fun to throw into someone's face. The introduction of the new technologies such as the slime cannon, the shotgun mode and all others is definitely a well deserved thought out process. It eschews the traditional HUB design for Health and Damage, and makes your pack more intuitive as it as a health bar ON IT measured in green to red. Your thrower can overheat, but it's like reloading really where instead of reloading bullets, you're reloading the ability to shoot more protonic charge.
As I'm writing this, Kyle's game just froze for the umpteenth time. You'd think this would be a SIGN that reads "You're playing too much Fallout, play another game noob". But I digress. No amount of pushing, proding and downright hiding the disk will stop him from playing guns and ammo with his supermutant buddy friend who has a creepy voice that goes "Yes! By all means LETS." and I'm pretty sure it doesn't prelude to horrifying mental images.
It is fourth of July in America. You guys should be good and amused by fireworks by now. Or not. Depends on where you are.
Also, almost forgot about this. Memes oi.
Tsukuyomi

Now one has to understand my choice here. While Tsukuyomi is crazy, batshit insane, a violent yandere who doesn't take no for an answer and is attracted severely to power and has a raging girl-crush on Setsuna so much that she'd strip her naked in a battlefield on purpose and go all creepy battle rapist on her... she's lovable in a Quattro sort of way.
Yes I said it, she is the Negima version of Quattro. While not cool and collected as her Nanoha counterpart, she makes up for it with enthusiasm, a violent tendency towards anything and everything, the overwhelming need to slice things up and a keen sexual attraction to people with powerful skills, Negi included. The little player, even attracting crazies.
Now just as a recollection, I don't truly hate this character, but it's one you can't help but hate and love at the same time. Her viciousness and battle rapist tendencies bring out the worst in anyone interacting with her. So much that Negi has grabbed her by the neck and squeezed from behind in a "Gonna crush your windpipe now" way.
So yeah, number two on that list. Go me. Whee.

It's a Very Pokemon World
Jun. 4th, 2010 05:10 pmOn a whim while I was in Red Deer, I picked up the first Pokemon Movie as it was 9 dollars. Nine Dollars WELL SPENT unlike my copy of Lucky Star The Complete Series which has 2 copies of Disk 2 in it. FAIL.
On the upside, The First Movie is just as emotionally stirring as when I first saw it in the theaters in Vancouver. I dunno I just, fought back tears when Ash was killed and the climactic Tears sequence happened. It's just so powerful for a first movie, it really sets the standards of this entire series.
*sniff*
It's a wonderful story of loss, life, love and friendship.
Now cap that off with me getting a job even if for a few days it's a wonderful day.
Time to watch what I have of Lucky Star and laugh a little.

On Sleep and Pokemon
Apr. 1st, 2010 03:33 pmFact: Pokemon is fun.
Fact: Togekiss is a beast that wrecks pretty much half the region in a glorious blaze of explosiveness. Morty I'm looking at you.
Fact: I went to bed at 4am last night.
Basically I need to stop going to bed at 3-4am and letting myself wake up at 9ish. Today I woke even EARLIER at 8:15. I stumbled into the shower and proceeded to zombie-walk the entire day. I laid in bed after lunch and I tried to sleep but sleep wasn't coming, more like a light dose. So I took an advil. My head is MOSTLY cleared. As such, I'm listening to JoCo and trying to resist the urge to make Chuck squeal like a little girl.
Fact: I need to sleep more.

Personal Days
Mar. 28th, 2010 09:30 amSo I noticed I was steadily declining in actual RP in Planeocracy and Never Was, so I decided to take a few personal days to clear my mind and enjoy gaming and other such stuff for a bit without tags to worry about. Also, it's to focus more on Corinth than it is on anything else. With Trans9 having a few problems right at the moment I'd hiatus from it too, but that'd just make me feel like a quitter.
Got some nice stuff in ICC last night though. Two runs back to back oi vey hehe.

I've been watching movies lately. Let's go in order shall we?
Astro Boy. While initially skeptical of a western treatment of the classic Osamu Tezuka classic, it's truly amazing. A lovable cast of both robots and humans, it has a surprising depth and a scene that if you're unfamiliar with the classic series, Dr. Tenma's son Toby was killed in an accident, prompting the creation of Astro as a replacement son. Instead of going the original route of Tenma being a few fruitloops short of a entire bowl they created an original opponent, a war-mongering president seeking re-election through force. Definitely good with surprisingly dark incidents.
The Princess and the Frog. While it has a classic Disney tone as it goes back to the original musical roots, it works so well being a new princess movie. The main character of Tiana is quite the energetic young woman in a period peace. The story takes the original tropes and gives it a swift kick in the head.
17 Again. While not perfect, it's definitely an amazing story. it's about turning your life around at any age. It's a lot of fun. Lots of dysfunction and a huge pile of hilarious repercussions.

On Days Like Today
Mar. 20th, 2010 12:36 pmIt's good to be alive. The sun is shining, the bees are buzzing (if there were bees), I discovered a new band Rev Theory's Hell Yeah, and I've got coffee on the boil after a lunch at McDonalds.
Hopefully today I'll be going to take a walk, or perhaps something like reading a novel. I've been meaning to get through the rest of Wicked.
The song really summed up my day.

Facial Hair
Mar. 12th, 2010 02:39 pmI've been debating the merits of facial hair. Not the unsightly mess my brother has, looking like he's hewn from terrorists but a nicely trimmed one.
So to this end, I carefully grew and shaved a nice beard into place. It's a Xanatos-style one, and with my short hair, it actually looks fairly decent.
Now to maintain it...

Good Deeds Have Great Rewards
Mar. 9th, 2010 08:11 amOn Thursday I brought Brendan over to Edmonton International Airport and as payment he gave me 50 bucks. I was thinking "Oh well here's all my gas money."
And then when I pick him up last night and drop him off, he gives me ANOTHER 50 bucks. I grinned and said "Dude." And he just grinned back.
In short, I have enough CASH to buy FFXIII without having to use a credit card. WOOOOOO.

Back to The Grind
Feb. 16th, 2010 10:36 amConsidering the weather took a turn for the worse, I'm not going to Red Deer today. But on the upside, I have gotten my coffee and no mom to tell me what to do this morning. Which is nice. Keeps my mood bright.
I've finally gotten back to my tags that I owe, with sincere apologies for fail. But this is pretendy happy funtimes, not anything important. It's a game. And I'm perfectly happy with churning out late tags.
Estelle's been more cheerful in my head for ages now, and it's a good sign. She's really enjoying Planeocracy, and probably unless Mags and I want to log things out, had a really good time asking "What's this?" about books, computers, histories, etc.
Now I can finally get back to Matt as well. He was hiding his tiredness with a few lame tags but eh, it happens.
Sure wish this coffee wasn't Maxwell House. I can taste the difference from it and Tim Hortons. I'd go out for breakfast but McDonalds stops serving at 10:30 and it's 10:28. So I'm spending the morning hoping mom will bring back Timmy muffins so I can have a brunch. I didn't feel too good when I had eggs last night so yeah, it happens.
Let's see. RP cheer back up to full, coffee in my mug, listening to God Knows from Haruhi Suzumiya and caught up to tags. I daresay this is a good thing.
Now if only I can remember what sphering power Chouji had I can continue writing Long Ago. I've been working on a scene in my head since last night, and it basically goes that Kakashi, since he knows that these kids are able to work as a team, dispenses with the Bell Test and goes for a very Genma-like punishment, something that has Sasuke shivering in fear.
As a note, the "Cradle of Hell" is a full-body hug, performed by wrapping your arms and legs around the opponent and rocking them while nuzzling in a very creepy manner. Repeated use of this technique has traumatized Ranma Saotome at the age of 16. As such, Sasuke who inherited memories, has also inherited fear of the Cradle of Hell. Must remember to scan the picture.

The Worst Day Ever: Take Two
Feb. 14th, 2010 06:11 pmThe title of this post is a bit of misnomer since I've long since cheered up from my frustrated self from this morning. Basically I went to see Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief.
From the get go, I knew I wasn't going to spend more than 6 bucks to see this movie, and it was a well worth 6 bucks. From the onset, when you go into a book adaptation movie, you're filled with anticipation and dread. Anticipation because fuckyeah, movie adaptation. And on the other hand, omg don't screw it up.
( in which I remark on the film )
In all I give this movie a 8/10. Can't give it full marks from a purely booklover perspective but if I were to give it a pure filmography, I'd go 10/10
On a side note, NGE: Nobody Dies just updated. This has the most crack I've ever seen in my life. Fist Bump FTW.

Well That Was Unexpected
Feb. 11th, 2010 11:42 amSet about to write a post for today and wound up redoing the layout of my journal. I guess I was sick and tired of not having a active bar at the top of it. In any rate, new layout. Yeah, nice. Just added text to one of my shops and it works out nicely.
On the upside, I'm skirting around danboorusafebooru why do you have to be down?!, skirting meaning NSFW material I'm trying my best to keep mum from noticing, and looking for pictures of Anna from Shaman King. I'm gonna have to shop a few icons together, nothing too fancy, but hopefully it'll come out nicely.
The sun is shining on the television so Tales of Vesperia is out for now as I can't see a damn thing. I'm just up to past Halure on a new game plus run, but the NGP only had enough GRADE for 2x EXP and pretty much nothing else. I would have started playing my extra save where I've logged over 100 hours on this game, but at the same time I've wanted to replay the entire game. So armed with pretty much nothing but 2x EXP and Titles and the DL Content, I'm slogging through it. Though I have to remember to not splurge on money. I need those 30,000 Gald Gift Boxes for later.
On a side note in terms of RP, I've joined
planeocracy along with Mags and Knux. Playing Estelle somewhere other than
the_love_hotel is so much more interesting, and to be honest, my interest has waned in that dressing. I don't think I'll be getting to that RP in a while despite owing tags that are now two days old. I dunno, I just can't seem to get Estelle to work anymore there right now. It's very strange. The same thing happened to Terra; she refuses to post there now even if it's just a hilarious CR post.
So that makes three games I'm back in again,
planeocracy,
trans_9 and of course
rpgthatneverwas. I'm starting to feel a whole lot better now so I'll probably make a fun Never Was tag that isn't holiday specific. And by Friday we're going to be dealing with
corinth_rp's big event.
A couple of fics are on my mind right now, three to be precise. Two are from the Clone Wars series, Clone Wars: Shippuden and Clone Wars: Transformers. Which I suppose technically makes one. The second one on my list is more The Day When The World Ended in which I think I'm going to write a NGE version of this focusing on people's lives from 2nd Impact and onward. The third final fic is The Onyx Incident but I need to figure out how big of a mess that's going to result in before I continue it. At the moment, I'm also considering work on My Dad, The Hero which is a Superhuman Samurai Syber-Squad fic set during Power Rangers S.P.D.
I've canceled City of Heroes at the moment, just to get my financial state up as I look for work. The local hospitals are in serious lack of positions right now that I can apply for, so I'm stuck. I don't want to go to Calgary to work as a PORTER of all things, but if it finally happens, it happens. Currently I'm playing Star Trek Online, but that's also due in part that I've got a free month and it's pretty awesome. I can't help but state Shields Up! when I do drop down on an enemy with all phaser banks and photon torpedoes firing. And of course WoW is on the backburner for now. I really don't feel like playing right now even with two back to back holidays. I'm not much of an Achievement Whore anyhow.
One last thing: I've been working on a explantion of magic, specifically focused around W.I.T.C.H. and I'll toss it up here for reference. So far I've got the five primary elements finished, and going to tackle the rest. I suppose this requires a tl;dr cut at any rate.
So in short, finding a job sucks, playing too many games, fics are consuming my life, and I can't seem to RP in the Love Hotel anymore. I'm going to call this 3 out of 5.
( my first tl;dr cut )
PS: Transformers Music and Star Trek 2009 music in the same playlist is godly for writing fics to, and just relaxing to.
On the upside, I'm skirting around danbooru

I would have started playing my extra save where I've logged over 100 hours on this game, but at the same time I've wanted to replay the entire game. So armed with pretty much nothing but 2x EXP and Titles and the DL Content, I'm slogging through it. Though I have to remember to not splurge on money. I need those 30,000 Gald Gift Boxes for later.
On a side note in terms of RP, I've joined

On RPs and Snowfalls
Dec. 5th, 2009 08:46 amLately I've been seriously getting neck-deep into
rpgthatneverwas as a real outlet for my insanity. Having one sane character (Terra) and two semi-crack ones (Stitch and Organization Moogle), I finally found a place that I can settle into without fail.
Also,
atlantus_taonas is starting to pick up which is good. Though
trans_9 is just, I dunno, it feels like HOME. Especially since Fletcher-mun from P_W is apping there now. That alone makes me feel good.
However, I'm just not feeling it at
permanent_way I just dunno what it is really. For some reason, I can't get into the game. And I'm sure everyone's heard me griping that
pokeology_rp and
thepraxeum are almost totally dead right now save for some brief bursts of activity. In Praxeum's case, Mags and I are waiting to see what's going on. I don't have any of the mods' AIM's though so... yeah.
The first major snowfall of the year hit, and it was a big one. We had a fairly large dump of snow in October but this was the first major blizzard of the year. So strong in fact that it disrupted my internet connection so much that I was Disconnecting from WoW yesterday. It never happens to me so I can only blame the storm.
I missed the roll on Shaman Boots which was a shame really to a pug. But aw well. It's a pug.
On a note, I think the
the_love_hotel has really worn me down. I think I'll post again later in the next week. I just can't deal with that place right now cause for some strange reason I'm bored of it.
And on a final statement, I redid Matt's icons
lackofdarkwings and they look great.

I hope I don't catch anything, but she sounds horrible. Raspy voice, cough, etc. I highly doubt it's serious or life-threatening, but I'm waiting hand and foot on her today starting last night. She almost went to the hospital last night BUT decided against it. Missed a Zerg 3D Sarth for that. But I'm glad she's all right right now.
Hopefully my immmune system'll work. I've been drinking a lot of water and OJ, taking my regular meds...
The only sniffles and cough I have is from a little bit of hay fever from when we worked outside. Always takes about four days for that to sorte out afterwards.
On my To Watch List today: the rest of StrikerS, more Medabotsmore power, and see about getting that torrent of To Majica worked out. Along with that, If All Else Fails needs to be torrented too and iconed the hell out of probably. It's been a while since I've made a truly epic set of Ben 10 AF icons.
Can't play WoW while watching though. Lags the video during load screens and lag spikes.
Mmm coffee good. When did I start drinking this again? Oh right: when I started to work long shifts in the Hospital. Which is moot now but still.

The Christmas in November
Nov. 2nd, 2009 07:27 amOh sure it's not really a christmas in November, but I look forward to this event every year since it's been peppered with good memories, and sucky ones. But since the suck has finally ended, I'm certain that this year is going to be a wonderful birthday. Why? For the fact that dad and I have finally cleared the air, I got mad, he got upset, we talked things over, etc. That monkey on my back is no more.
Another big thing is that with three months away from Dive has really softened my stance on it. While I still figure it needs a serious kick in the pants from a strict outside looking in view, I'm no longer the frothing bowl of emo that manages to rise itself. Not this Thirteenth. Oh no. Because the Fourteenth is my birthday.
Yes that's right sportsfans, Shaun's turning twenty-eight this year. Man, I feel old. Sooner or later I'm going to be waggling my cane and yelling GET OFF MY LAWN to the crazy kids coming around and picking my apples. But I digress.
It would explain why I'm going to bed earlier lately. Now that the time travel has finally stopped playing havoc with my body, and I'm loaded with coffee, mmm hazelnut timmys, I can honestly say that this next week is going to be solid.
And oh hey, I have until the 20th to play WoW. Slowly I'm getting back into that to be honest. It's a lot of fun now that they're asking me to come DPS Trial of the Crusader once in a while instead of me having to bow-out all the time.
Nothing like a monday morning listening to Rammenstein's Mein Hertz brennt, soon to be full coffee mug and a little bit of relaxation before it gets warm enough to tackle the rest of the lawn. There be dead flowers to pull.
On the note of RP stuffs, I need to get something to do in Atlantus and Praxeum stat. I don't want to see a good game like that die on me. And the Hotel, well, Izumi's having fun XD
Almost forgot. Anyone who doesn't know, my birthday's November 14th.

Thursday already amigod.
Thursday is one of those weird days for me. While people consider Wednesday the weird middle day or Monday that OMG don't want to get up for the week day, Thursdays have always been the day when Shit Goes Down. If I have an exceptional Thursday, Friday usually goes to hell.
But lately it's sort of been so-so. It's not bad per say, just tiresome.
I need a haircut and a oil change like whoa. It's early enough. Maybe I should head to Red Deer now and get a oil change done up. It's 8am.
Oh on a random note, got rejected from Axiom but they want me to revise. The problem with that? Is that I have a serious problem with only having one comment to post a history O_O If I had multiple comments I could do it. But AUGH.
