Bashed In The Head Over And Over...
Apr. 12th, 2008 08:26 am... until in my delirious state, conjured up the idea once again of Peter Parker becoming Batman.
The plan is simple: he never sticks around to hear the famous words that puts him on the path to becoming Spider-man, and in the wake of Uncle Ben's murder, becomes distraught, always thinking of what Uncle Ben might have said.
Based on the concept of Bullet Points and taking a little from the new Black Suited Spider-man series in the comics, it gives an idea of how life could have turned out if Peter had changed the outlook on the ability to fight crime.
Peter, early on in fact would have told Aunt May everything, how he could have prevented the murder if he wanted to do so. Aunt May would have took it in stride, but would be unable to prevent Peter from wanting to continue his path of crime fighting. So after helping Peter dispose of his Spider-man wrestling costume, she shows him a sealed trunk in the attic. This trunk is full of gadgets and an armored suit, left over from his father's day.
With some inspiration after visiting Uncle Ben's grave in the form of bats screeching in the tree above it, he becomes Batman.
The Peter-Batman would be more of the Batman from The Batman, faster, more agile, and like both Spider-man and Batman, would attract a whole row of crazies.
Not entirely sure which universe I'm going to set this in, either Spectacular Spider-man or the Ultimate universe, but it's still a work in progress of an idea. Believe me, this idea bashed me in the head while cooking breakfast this morning.
EDIT: Just cause it wouldn't leave me, I wrote the first chapter of Hollow Points.
