Being Frank...
Sep. 2nd, 2005 10:43 am... about the Nintendo DS.
While it has renewed some of my faith with the release of Yugioh Nightmare Troubadour, I still have to admit that between the release of Kirby's Canvas Curse about one or two months ago and Yugioh for the DS, I have to say that unless they release some of the really good stuff like say a CT port-remake or what not, it's not going to do well.
Seriously, the DS isn't doing so well. I'm just glad I didn't BUY one myself. Left that up to my brother.
On the other hand, the Sony PSP is actually doing rather well in terms of hardware and software. It has support for damn near everything nowadays and the graphics look like they've been pulled off a PS2. I mean seriously, if it weren't for the fact that Squaresoft is still making games or at least plan to for the DS, I'd probably recommend a trade-in.
The best thing Nintendo is going to have is the Nintendo Revolution. Between it and the Sony PS3, it'll be actually a steady running, depending on the high-quality roms that you'll be able to download and play. Of course, there IS a price which kind of annoys me. The PS3 though always had my backing mainly because that it hosts the majority of the games I want. X-Box is, well, it's not very GOOD per say. Technically speaking, it has good gameplay for shooters, but it's so ungodly big and unwieldy. Microsoft is shooting itself in the FOOT because it's releasing the X-Box 360 late this year since the PS3 and the Nintendo Revolution quite literally hosts more power than it does. I mean c'mon.
I'll be happy if they release some older games such as Tales of Phantasia for the DS like they were SUPPOSED to. At the very least though, It'll be kind of fun to see what kind of stuff you'll have later on.
Hmm... Nightmare Troubadour points out a very good card to run. Time to see if I can work Timeeater into the ol' Yugioh deck.
