Incredible...
Jan. 7th, 2005 08:23 pm... and curious at the same time.
How is it that every time I go to look for a game that has been out of distribution for a while, EB Games tends to have a game copy for me? Hence, I went to try and find a copy of Disgaea Hour of Darkness and Phantom Brave, both second handed at EB Games. After a false alarm, I did find a copy each plus a Phantom Brave strategy guide. ^_^
I got hooked on the Nippon Ichi games when I picked up a used copy of La Pucelle Tactics at the local video store. The sheer funniness of Prier kicking people in the nuts for comedic timing is just AWESOME. That's just the topping of the whole game system as the gameplay is sound and the script is incredibly funny. Where else can you find people screaming for water to put out a raging inferno and one of the charecters saying "I can help with that" and then unzips his fly? That, and the game is just funny from part one.
Phantom Brave is one of those games where I can fulfill my 8-Bit Theatre Passions. In other words, I'm gonna pick up the nearest Fighter-class charecter and Doken him at an enemy. Oh yeah, it's Doken Time.
Disgaea I heard a lot of good stuff about the storyline and the charecters in it. Especially from Rocker who got it from Brent. Ah, this is going to be a good semester. Being able to read to my hearts content, write awesome essays and play video games.
