WoW and Raid Finder Addiction
I find myself looking forward to Raid Finder every Tuesday. It's gotten to be a habit of mine, having to get up and go and deal with Raid Finder as soon as possible. Y'know, get it done so I can move on. But I always find the maximum enjoyment on my paladin for one reason or another. I guess it's just because I really love playing my paladin.
Back in Vanilla WoW they were amazing, and then nerfed, and then amazing again. Wrath of the Lich King was The Era of the Paladin, where everything would go swimmingly for us. And then they nerfed us right up the butt during the first part of Cataclysm. There was no median about it, Pallys were terrible in the early part of Cataclysm, to the point that we could only tank.
Retribution has a long sorrid story about itself, the Useless Spec as some people call it. There would be absolutely no middle ground, you leveled protection because there was nothing for it. And then Wrath came, and completely destroyed the Ret Spec, making it a viable damage spec. No longer would people laugh at you for being a Ret Pally. Oh no. This was amazing and it was done well.
I guess my rambles are just that, but I wanted to think about how Ret Pallys have come a long way. It's still not where I'd like it to be, in the Wrath Glory Days, but it's very viable now, as much as gameplay is concerned.
