Possible New RP
Working on a new RP is as time-consuming as actually playing in one. But it has its merits. The heady power of being "The Dungeon Master" is more than enough considering the theme of the game that we've begun working on since last night.
The pitch was written... and written again... and then we begun to sling ideas back and forth. In the end, I really think we've struck gold. And oil. And possibly plutonium.
And through all of this, I almost want to make certain we have a awesome layout for the comm before we open up. My priorities are all screwed up.
Now where's that Monster Bestiary and Item List?
Someone's gonna have to make a location map too...
And then there's the character sheets...
... this is going to be both a headache and a JOY to write. Now I know how Penny Arcade feels playing D&D.
At least we've got the major ideas worked out. It's all refinement from here.
Oh and here's Herc's version of The Pitch.
Greetings. I am not who you think I am, or whom you would believe me to be, but please believe whatever you may wish, for I am your guide during your momentary disorientation: Your world is dying. Your scientists, magicians and all what ails you have discovered an infinite power source in the world you now find yourself in. To get it, you must ready your steel and magic and delve into the never-ending mystical world of Temeran. Your goal is to recover the crystal strings, but you must not partake this journey alone. You may ally yourself with your regular companions to retrieve the crystal strings, but ultimately you may be forced to band together with allies from various worlds…or enemies that would desire nothing more than your complete and total destruction.
Bring enough of the crystal strings back to your world, and you will be able to weave a crystal that will harness enough energy to save your world.
Be warned - monsters crafted of mystical abilities lurk in every corner. Evil sleeps in the depths of the world. And even the strangest folk will aid you -- or attack you, as previously mentioned when you would have to ally with people who aren’t from your world. Earn your crystal strings, weave your world back together…and save your universe.
Live long…and prosper.
