True to Her Namesake
So Soul Calibur 4 offers rich, robust character creation, the likes of which SHAME other games in the making. Everything from hair to facial features to color of gear and weapons are all applicable. And if that wasn't enough, they offer up huge amounts of unlockable and purchasable in-game items of all sorts to add to your personage.
Like Mags, whom had a rabid Yuka muse gnawing on him to build her a SC4 avatar, Asuna poked me first. So, I cobbled together a fairly stat-heavy but kind of ugly looking thing. After a few half-hearted tries, Kyle took over and pimped her out with piles of unlocked gear from his playing.
Decently powerful, considering she's modeled on the Siegfried game model, Asuna also has one major point to her character customization: in that in the battle on the 16th floor, I watched as her clothing got BLOWN AWAY by solid strikes to the chest and lower half, leaving her in a skin tight Kunoichi tog.
While I'm typing this, his own character of Clie became "Free of pants" as they got shattered into little itty bits.
The clothing shattering of SC4 welcomes a new unique angle of the game, since the loss of your gear will undoubtably affect your stats in coming battles such as the Tower Mode. But at the same time, it really makes me wonder just how far the namesake'll take Asuna. I mean, hell. She's wearing pretty tiny undergarments already. Granted they have a huge stat bonus, but how much do You loose that when you're shredded down to your skivvies?
I'm just glad you can't break someone's weapon, or I'd be mad-pissed when I'm reduced to Heihatchi style.
I give Soul Calibur 5 out of 5 for style, creativity, and the funness.

At the very least, gear gets WAY more awesome when you unlock more things. My brothers sense of style, as hard as it is to admit, is better than mine and the characters he's made on there are just simply awesome.
