Appearance: Henry is a young fit man with dark hair and kind eyes. He wears usually shopkeeper yellows and blues.
As Phantom he’s wearing all black with a red-lined cape, top hat and a white mask that seems to change expressions all the time.
As Spacefighter X, he wears no hat but wears black with a long red heroic scarf and white boots and gloves. He wears a similar mask with a gold background.
Personality: Henry is a kind young man who works at a small specialty trainer store. He’s often giving trainers advice and charges for the best items including TM’s. While entertained easily by the stories from other trainers, he’s a usual face for a new trainer who often assists others. He appears to have no Pokemon but that’s a farce that he has for his second and third identities.
Phantom Renegade is a strong and skilled thief who can be as self-foiling as Team Rocket or Galactic, but his skill is such that he can capture most pokemon with nets and other capture devices. Able to break into storerooms and many high security facilities, Phantom Renegade seems to steal and move on, but he possibly works for a higher power.
Spacefighter X is a strong and stalwart trainer who has defeated people with a sole pokemon, a Pikachu that has seemingly transcended strengths beyond most Pikachu. However it is the bond between him and his pokemon that has kept the pair together. Pikachu lives out of sight, for Henry isn’t supposed to have Pokemon of his own as the triple life he plays is a dangerous game. He often offers advice to those down on their luck, and participates in both tournaments and Super Contests.
Abilities: Henry is a financial wiz, working under Professor Aki. His entire shop is sponsored by this researcher who formerly worked for Silph Co. His strengths lay in planning and tactics. However he’s also very atheletic and a brilliant thief who is knowledgeable about all Pokemon as he had a friend who wanted to become a breeder.
History: Henry Agata comes from New Bark, and he has conquered the Johto Region and won all eight badges under the sponsorship of Doctor Aki, a local doctor other than the other major Professors. He traveled with two others during this time and managed to battle his way to the Indigo Plateau. During this time, a strange phenomenon was moving through the region, and Henry noticed dangerous pokemon appearing, pokemon he could only see with dark hearts.
Ten years ago in the Johto Region, there was a great tournament in the Indigo Plateau and Henry Agata was participating in it. He was getting close to the finals when a terrible event known as the Ten Days of Darkness happened. Terrible Shadow Pokemon was unleashed upon the world, and Henry found himself having to fight hard in order to prevent the world from falling into darkness.
After defeating the cause of it, Henry moved to the Sinnoh Region in order to escape his past. Gifted with the terrible power to see Shadow Pokemon, pokemon with closed hearts, he was one of those people who went around in secret and in shadows to prevent this sort of thing from happening.
For three years after setting up his store, his snag-em machine was quiet, and Henry was a shopkeep in Eterna City until one day, Henry noticed the sky going dark again from Team Galactic’s machinations.
Then, one day, a thief in the night appeared. A man who called himself Phantom Renegade appeared; a thief of rare and valuable Pokemon. For ten years, the Phantom Renegade swooped through the Sinnoh Region, stealing Pokemon without any Pokemon of his own. Mysteriously, they pokemon were returned, happier and to new trainers.
Phantom Renegade’s purpose was two-fold. To prevent another Ten Days of Darkness happening and to steal away the pokemon with closed hearts in order to restore their lives back into balance. It’s here in Eterna City where he makes his base, scrutinizing those with rare and valuable Pokemon, but not only those with rare and valuable Pokemon but those with unusual strength of heart. For the Phantom Renegade can see those with strong hearts.
Not many people know his true identity as Henry Agata, and fewer still know him as the mysterious top trainer known as Spacefighter X, a man with a golden mask and a Pikachu as his sole pokemon. This doesn’t mean that the pokemon itself is undefeatable, but their bond is strong. He presumably has five more pokemon, but they’re currently stored at Professor Elm’s place, the professor that he first learned from as Henry Agata.
For now, the threat is low and Henry is simply a shopkeeper. But he’s always looking out for the day that the Shadow Pokemon will begin arriving once more, throwing balance out of whack. And on that day, he’ll reclaim his Snag-Em Machine and become Phantom Renegade once again for real.

History: Pikachu was captured in the fields around New Bark by Henry when he started out, and has been with him for years since. He’s a cheery Pokemon and has been taught several moves from all sorts of places. His signature move is Iron Volt Tackle, a two-step process where he hits the opponent with a Volt Tackle and spins into a Iron Tail to finish off the opponent. This move has nicknamed him Metal Beetle, for his tenacity and headbutt signature moves.
Pikachu has a powerful extra move that Doctor Aki has termed Pokepower, which is simply a burst of energy that leaves the wielder drained to be used in any attack, typically a supped up volt tackle. It usually appears with a rainbow like glow around the Pikachu.
Roleplay Samples:
Third Person: “Have a nice day!” called out Henry as the trainer left his store. “Seems like a good day today.”
“Pikachu,” echoed a voice under the counter and Henry shushed up the Pokemon. “Pika?”
“I know,” sighed Henry. “But I’m not registered for a Pokemon, unless someone notices my past.”
“Pi Pikachu, chu,” replied Pikachu, shaking his head and giving him a v for victory. “Chu?”
Henry chuckled at his pokemon’s enthusiasm. “All right, we’ll train tomorrow. Okay?”
“Chu!” With that, Pikachu charged up the stairs and Henry grinned. There was a lot of things that he was doing and shopkeeping was one of the things he was good at. And Doctor Aki would have been one of the people who needed to know if there were shadow pokemon running around. After all, being one of the big shopkeeps in the area, he had a ear out for everything that happened in and around the area.
But still…
“Five years… And no Shadow Pokemon. I’m hoping they’ll never return.”
Henry’s hand wrapped around the locked box under the counter. “When that day comes…”
