AU #2 - Power Rangers A.D.S.

Or Power Rangers Avatar Drive State.

YES it is a AU of what you THINK IT IS.

Power Rangers A.D.S. – Avatar Drive State

In the year 20XX, on the cusp of technology, a computer virus spread throughout the world, decimating the worlds technological prowess, and creating armies of robot soldiers. The last human bastion is the domed city of Ba Sing Se. The people believed that the Avatar, the last of the spiritual great ones would come and save them from the virus, codenamed Azulon. They were unaware that the Avatar was never to be seen again.

21XX – A child scientist, Toph, has created a team of superheroes, the Powered Recon Advanced Natural aGgression and dEfender Rescue Series, or Power Rangers for short. In it, she resurrected the ancient abilities of bending, and crafted five series.

This is their story. A world of four elements, having lost everything, now must defeat the aggression of the Azulon Super Virus.

Ranger Series Red – Zuko. A descendant of the royal family, he has proven himself time and time again on the field of battle. However his recklessness has earned him a scar across the left side of his face in previous years. He controls the power of Fire to an astonishing degree. However his temper can sometimes overrule his judgement.

Ranger Series Green – Toph. A blind girl with an innate sense of natural forces and the developer of said Ranger technology, she controls the power of the Earth while in combat, and uses it to wander the world as if she was able to see. A natural innate understanding of Neutral Jing is within the girl, able to strike at a moments notice, or wait patiently.

Ranger Series Blue – Katara. Control over water is built into the suit, and Katara found herself as the most adept of the candidates. More patient than her usual companions and a bit of mother hen.

Ranger Series Yellow – “Aang” The fourth in the generation suits, it was Toph’s attempt at duplicating the power of Air. But no one was able to control it, until a young boy and his companion managed to wander into the city of Ba Sing Se. A boy with a mysterious past, he is connected to Azulon.

Ranger Series Black – Sokka. The last and final Ranger series that Doctor K has developed, it was created in an attempt to harness the pinnacle of elemental forces, but due to imperfections and flaws, the user is unable to utilize any of the major elements so far. A melee type, Ranger Series Black is unusually adept at weapons and melee combat.

Ranger Series Gold – Ty Lee. One of the three children kidnapped for their prowess in certain fields, Ty Lee survived the destruction of the Alphabet Soup facility and was in a slave camp along with her companion for years until they managed to escape and subsequently nuke it off the face of the map. Highly energetic, she is more boom-happy of the pair and her abilities focus on a high speed interception style.

Ranger Series Silver – Mai. The life-long companion of Ty Lee, the pair were stuck in the work camp for a long time, secretly working on perfecting the Ranger technology of the Gold and Silver series. Unlike the rest of the Ranger series, Silver focuses on projectiles and weapons of a thrown nature.

General Iroh – the military leader of Ba Xing Se’s defense, he is the older father figure to Zuko and often has to talk him down from engaging in mad schemes against his sister who willingly turned to Azulon’s side. One of the few natural benders left, he is nicknamed the Dragon of the West.

King Bumi. – the former leader of Omashu before it was ransacked and destroyed by Azulon troops, Bumi serves as the advisor to the young king. A master of neutral jing, he is one of the few remaining great benders.

Hadoka of the Water Tribe – Sokka’s father, he left his son in charge of taking care of what they had left with an oath to find his baby sister. Despite this, he has been considered M.I.A. in the wastelands since the last major battle against Azulon troops. However he still lives, waging a guerrilla war against the machines.

Doctor Roku – the Avatar that preceded Aang, he was a scientist who pioneered the radical advancement in the worlds technology. However, during this time, a friend, Azulon, became the Fire Nation’s Emperor, and yearned for a war of expansion for the “good of the people”. Roku and he fought and after the battle, slunk into a depression. Without thinking about the consequences, he created a computer virus to cripple Azulon’s forces. The virus codenamed Sozin, crippled the Fire Nation’s computer systems, but then spread like a wildfire. Roku was horrified at what he had done and went to Azulon for aid in defeating what he had started. Azulon agreed, but in a battle that nearly did the pair in, Azulon allowed Sozin’s monstrosities to strike the aged Avatar down. Then, did something unheard of – he allowed the virus to infect himself. And thus Azulon was born, and resumed his war.

Secondary Characters

The Boulder – A strongman of an Earthbender, he performs in the Earth Rumble, one of the people’s greatest wrestling performances ever. However, his support is firmly towards the Rangers as he was once saved by the Yellow Ranger against Azulon Troops. His day job when he is not working in the Earthbending Championships is a police officer under the command of General Iroh.

Master Yu – a Earthbender teacher, one of the few who remain, he is not adverse to taking on jobs that would supplement his income. He is secretly proud of Toph’s progress in the art, but constant financial persuasions from the BeiFong family often have him clashing verbally and physically with the young Ranger.

Zords

Flying Bison – the inoperative carrier superzord, only the user of Series Yellow can operate it. Aangs Zord.

Penguin Otter – Ranger Series Blue’s zord, it’s a quick and mobile zord and provides one of the arms of the ADS Megazord.

Dragon-Hawk – Ranger Series Red’s zord. It is primarily a land vehicle but can convert to flight mode for a short period of time. It forms the torso of the ADS megazord as well as the head.

Saber-toothed Mooselion – Ranger Series Black’s zord. It forms primarily the legs of the mech. Deploys the Horn Saber from the legs.

Badger Mole – Ranger Series Green’s zord. Capable of tunnelling under, it forms the arms of the ADS Megazord.

Mongoose Dragon – Ty Lee’s zord, it creates one half of the State-Breaker Megazord.

Komodo Rhino – Mai’s zord, it is capable of high defensive shields. Makes up the other half of the State-Breaker Megazord.

Winged Lemur – a zord that Sokka and Ty Lee create together, it retains a huge amount of firepower and speed and can move at near-mach speeds.

Configurations

Avatar Drive State Megazord – a mix of the Dragon-Hawk, Saber-toothed Mooselion and Badger Mole zords.

Bison Fortress Megazord – the mix of the titanic carrier zord Flying Bison and Lemur, it deploys and can link up with any of the zord configurations.

State-Breaker Megazord – Ty Lee and Mai’s zords, they were originally designed to destroy the A.D.S. Megazord but they managed to infuse the zords with biological sequences in order to turn them to their side.

A.D.S. Breaker Megazord – a combination of the A.D.S. Megazord and the State-Breaker Megazord.

Fortress Drive Break Megazord – the Oh Shit Button come to life, this zord is used when there’s no other option left. So far at least.

Ranger Special Powers

Series Red – Flame Wave, 3 Second Burst, it is a tracking blast of flames that can be manipulated around the opponent or struck directly.

Series Yellow – Howling Winds, 10 Second Burst, able to decimate the land around herself.

Series Blue – Freeze Gush, 2 second blast. A torrent of water is hurled forward, freezing everything it touches.

Series Black – Bladestorm. Hits everything in the immediate area, however causes no damage other than a shield or pushing motion. Duration of 5 seconds.

Series Green – Earth Shatter – a spinning land eruption attack using the fans provided as weapons. 7 second duration.

Avatar Drive State – the series gets its name from the A.D.S., an extended power level of the Ranger Series. In an attempt to emulate the missing Avatar, each Ranger is granted a 12 second duration of a faux Avatar State, known as a Drive state. This ability severely drains the user of the biofield energy required to power the suit, leaving them vulnerable. This ability can also be used in a Megazord, typically used as the finishing move against a particularly dangerous opponent.

Antagonists

Azulon Computer Virus – a computer virus originally developed by Doctor Roku that infected the Fire Nation Emperor and changed to its current incarnation. It wages a war against the rest of humanity. Its first act was to wipe out the Air Nomads.

General Zhao – a machine built for war, the General is ruthless in his attacks upon the landscape.

General Ozai – the tactician of the pair, he is as ruthless as he is cunning.

Azula 4 – The fourth in a long series of technological hybrid advancement towards melding people with the Azulon virus and hardware. Also Zuko’s sister. Also quite insane.

Long Feng – the smarmy cultural preservation leader of Ba Sing Se, his goal is to preserve the way of life. Obsessed with the benders of the past, his men are trained Earthbenders and feels that the Power Rangers make a mockery of their grand history. He would like nothing more than Azulon’s forces and the Rangers killed in battle, but have yet to make a move against them other than vetoing resources that are funnelled into “maintenance” of the dome.

Notes should be made that with help I've readjusted the cast line up, changed a couple of zords and backstories.
